Zone not turning on — or not shutting off? We diagnose and repair sprinkler valves fast.
Sprinkler valves are the gatekeepers of your irrigation system — each one controls water flow to a specific zone. When a valve fails, that zone either won't water at all or won't stop watering. Both problems waste water and damage your landscape. We diagnose and repair all types of sprinkler valves throughout San Marcos and Hays County.

When a zone won't activate, the problem is usually at the valve or in the wiring between the controller and the valve. We test the solenoid for electrical resistance, check the wiring continuity, and manually test the valve to isolate the fault. Bad solenoids are the most common cause and are inexpensive to replace.
A zone that runs continuously — even when the controller is off — almost always indicates a stuck valve. This usually happens when debris lodges in the valve seat, the diaphragm wears out and no longer seals, or the solenoid gets stuck in the energized position. Cleaning or replacing the valve typically resolves it.
Solenoids are the electrical actuators that open valves when your controller sends a signal. They can fail from age, water intrusion, or lightning. Wiring issues — breaks from digging, rodent damage, connector corrosion — prevent the signal from reaching the solenoid. We use a multi-meter to test both and identify the fault precisely.
Many valve problems can be repaired by replacing just the solenoid or the internal diaphragm kit — a fraction of the cost of a new valve. When the valve body is cracked or corroded beyond repair, we replace the full valve. We always give you both options with pricing so you can make the right call.
